EtchCraft specializes in sand carving custom awards and plaques, an age-tested method for etching delicate crystal and glass, and the preferred method for engraving natural marble. We also offer laser engraving services, computerized mechanical engraving and other traditional methods to compliment our products with personalization.
While sand carving is well suited for the digital age, the technique is still done by hand by our artisan engravers in our Vancouver and Richmond, B.C. studios. Sand carving requires that a photo-resist mask be developed using your custom artwork then adhered to the piece so that high pressure sand particles can be blasted through the mask to engrave your custom image.
Sand carving is the most difficult method of modern engraving, but also the only reliable way to professionally etch fine crystal.
